Iran's Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Amman the Jordanian capital, at the head of a diplomatic delegation on Wednesday, October 16, to meet and talk with senior Jordanian officials, in a group of reporters regarding the objectives of his trip to Jordan stated: "The purpose of our trip to Jordan is to continue the regional diplomacy that we started about two weeks ago. In the next step of this regional tour, I will go to Egypt and then to Türkiye."
He stated that the region is in a critical situation and there is a common concern among the countries of the region for the situation to get out of control.
This issue is also due to the attacks and crimes committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza and Lebanon, and every day a new crime by the Israeli regime is committed, this is the reason why there is a common concern about this situation among the countries of the region.
Araghchi continued: "There is a regional and global determination that these attacks and crimes must be stopped. Fortunately, there is a good common ground between us and the Jordanian authorities, and today I had a detailed and good meeting with my Jordanian counterpart, as well as with the King of Jordan, AbdullahbII, regarding regional issues. In these meetings, we stressed all should make joint efforts to stop the crimes and attacks by the Israeli regime."
The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs stated: "The need to establish a ceasefire in Lebanon has become a serious regional and international demand so that aid can be provided to the Lebanese refugees. Today, about one and a half million people are displaced, and the Israeli regime has bombed the transportation routes so that they could not be helped, which is also considered a war crime."
Araghchi added: "It is unfortunate that while we and all the countries in the region are trying to reduce the tension in the region to prevent further crimes, European and Western countries are managing to increase the tension by imposing new sanctions. They know better than anyone that sanctions have never been a solution and have never been able to solve a problem in the relations between Iran and the West, nevertheless, they have always added to the problems and they were always the ones who were forced to negotiate to manage the tension after the heavy sanctions imposed on Iran failed."
Iran's Foreign Minister stated that the new sanctions against Iran are considered a hostile action and will not help the existing situation, adding that the new sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe against Iran deprive ordinary people who travel by plane.
