Ardabil (IP) - Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicraft, and Tourism stressed the facilitation of tourism through the omission of visas among the ECO member countries.

Iran PressIran news: At the 5th meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member countries' Ministers of Tourism, Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ezzatollah Zarghami said that the member countries enjoy a population of about 500 million people form a vast world of commercial, cultural, historical and service facilities, which have a huge capacity to expand tourism.

Zarghami highlighted the year's slogan 'green tourism' and noted: "Iran's cultural heritage, architecture and buildings have been built throughout history in order to preserve nature and optimal using of the environmental gifts."

He put an emphasis on preserving the environment through the use of the experiences available and the architectures practiced in the past to fulfill green tourism planning and protect the environment.

The 5th meeting of ECO member countries' Tourism Ministers was held in Ardabil on Thursday with the presence of the ECO Secretary General in the Khataee Gallery of Sheikh Safi al-Din Complex. 

Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Tajikistan are members of ECO. 219
