Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Ministry of Health Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari on Thursday reported the latest data on the coronavirus in the country and the deaths caused by the virus.
She said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 16 in the country, 2,500 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 267,061," 1,914 of the new patients were hospitalized.
The Spokeswoman said, "Unfortunately, in the past 24 hours, 198 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, and 13,608 people have lost their lives in the country to date." The official stated, "3,471 patients are in intensive care units."
"So far, around 2,073,791 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.
According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of West and East Azerbaijan, Ilam, Bushehr Khuzestan, Khorasan Razavi, and Mazandaran, Zanjan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Golestan, and Hormozgan provinces are in the red alert.
The provinces of Tehran, Fars, Kerman, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, South Khorasan, Lorestan, Hamadan Yazd and North Khorasan are on yellow alert.
