Iran Press/ Iran news: The eighth round of sanctions removal talks commenced in Vienna on December 27 and has resumed in Vienna on February 8, 2022, after a short break to consult delegations in their capitals.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, in a phone call, reviewed the latest state of bilateral relations regarding the negotiation process in Vienna.
Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need for seriousness and responsibility of the negotiating parties with Iran and noted that reaching this stage of the talks is due to the logical approach and initiative of the Iranian side.
The Iranian foreign minister also urged the need for a collective agreement between all negotiating parties on a single text and the need to take into account the legitimate demands of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Reiterating the principled position of the Islamic Republic towards Afghanistan, he called the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan crucial and emphasized the need for the international community to provide immediate assistance to the Afghan people.

He also referred to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen and expressed hope that Britain would fulfill its responsibilities to end the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the continuing aggression and war in Yemen.
