Iranian oil minister, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh

Tehran (IP)- Iran's oil minister has announced consultations with some oil producers about the upcoming meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Iran PressIran News: Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said on Tuesday that before any meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC members, an agreement must be reached on each country's basic amount production.

Zanganeh reported on his twitter that in addition to talks with OPEC, he made telephone calls with the Russian and Kuwaiti oil ministers about how to decide at the next meeting between OPEC members and other oil producers to restore stability to the oil market.

It was stressed at the talks that producers from other countries, including the United States and Canada, should also take part in the plan, he noted.

Zanganeh also stressed that before any meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC, an agreement must be reached on the basic production figures of each country, which will necessarily be the basis for reducing production.

Oil producers are scheduled to hold a virtual meeting on Thursday to balance the oil market.
