HANOI (IP)— In a move to bolster tourism cooperation between the two nations, the Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran, Ali Asghar Shalbafian, and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, Hwang Dao Quang, have met in Hanoi to discuss expanding bilateral relations in the tourism sector.

Iran PressAsia:  During the meeting, the officials emphasized the need to update the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism between Iran and Vietnam, increase sector-level meetings to foster mutual recognition of tourism capabilities and facilitate the entry of Iranian citizens to Vietnam, potentially through the cancellation of visa requirements.

To further strengthen tourism ties, the two countries will be hosting a joint tourism conference and roadshow event titled "Welcome to Iran" on Monday at the Pullman Hotel in Hanoi. The event will feature presentations on Iran's tourism potential, with representatives from the private and public sectors of both countries engaging in bilateral negotiations to develop the tourism industry.

The strengthening of tourism cooperation between Iran and Vietnam comes at a time when both countries are seeking to diversify their economies and attract more international visitors. By streamlining visa requirements and promoting cross-cultural exchanges, the two nations aim to unlock the full potential of their tourism sectors and provide travelers with new and exciting destinations to explore.

This initiative aligns with the broader efforts of the global tourism industry to recover from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world gradually reopens, the collaboration between Iran and Vietnam serves as a model for how countries can work together to revitalize the tourism sector and offer travelers a wider range of unique experiences.
