Iran Press/ Iran News: Meeting with Iran's Health Minister Bahram Einollahi on Wednesday, the Syrian Minister of Higher Education Bassam Bashir Ibrahim noted the countless victims and severe damage on industrial, educational, health, and economic sectors of his country left by the US-backed terrorists' war on the Syrian nation.
Bassam Bashir Ibrahim stated: "Iran's resistance in international circles at the political, economic, and even health and educational levels has breathe a new life to Syria even during the war."
"Scientific and health cooperation with Iran has existed in the past and will be extended more," he added.
He noted that Iran has made good medical progress, especially in cancer treatment, and announced his country's intention to exchange students, professors, research, and science with Iran.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides inked a memorandum of understanding in medicine, scholarship, and science.
In addition to meeting with Iran's Health Minister Bahram Einollahi, the Syrian minister has also met Iran's Vice President for Science and Technology, Sorena Sattari.
Bassam Bashir Ibrahim also visited several universities and research institutes during his three-day visit to Tehran to provide more opportunities for cooperation between the universities and higher education institutions of the two countries.
