Iran Press/Iran news: The Head of Central Asia, Caucasus and Russia Office of the TPOI Akbar Godari, on Sunday stressing the increase in trade relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, announced the upward trend in the trade of agricultural products and food industries in the first two months of this year to Turkmenistan.

Godari said further that trade in the field of food industry of Iran and Turkmenistan has experienced significant growth; The trade of food industry and agricultural products of the two countries was about 39 million dollars in 1401 (2022), which reached 74 million dollars in 1402 (2023) with a growth of 35%.

Godari introduced the Turkmen market as susceptible to attracting Iranian products and added that in the 13th government of Iran, the development of trade with neighbors through economic diplomacy to reduce sanctions and increase the export of Iranian products was prioritized, and in the meantime, consultations were held to expand trade relations with Turkmenistan, it came to fruition and the market of this country became one of the export target markets.
