Tehran (IP) - International Workers' Day, also known as Labour Day in some countries and often referred to as May Day, is a celebration of laborers and the working classes that is promoted by The international labor movement and occurs every year on 1 May, or the first Monday in May.

Iran PressIran News: Attending the event which was held at the Iranian Tobacco Company (ITC), Iran's Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare Minister stressed that Iranian workers are the country's economic principal.

Solat Mortazavi further said: Any country can reach progress and development's peak through its workers' efforts.

He highlighted to repair, refurbish, and update all types of machinery to improve and enhance tobacco production in the country and expressed hope to take control of foreign markets by doing so.
