New Delhi (IP) - As the birth anniversary of Hazrat Mohammad, the beloved prophet of Islam (PBUH), approaches, special celebrations are being held in different cities of India.

Iran PressAsia: The Muslims of India started celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on Sunday, and the guests and some speakers of these celebrations are followers of different religions, including Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians.

The followers of Islam distribute food, sweets, and syrup to people on the occasion of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Muslims of New Delhi, the capital of India, walked a 12-kilometer route.

According to Sunni tradition, the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal is the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the beloved prophet of Islam.

On the initiative of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awl (Sunni tradition) to the 17th of Rabi-ul-Awl (Shi'a tradition) has been named Unity Week.
