Iran Press/ Africa: Speaking at a webinar held on Wednesday by the Iranian Embassy and Cultural Counselor in Pretoria on the occasion of the demise of the late founder of Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini, Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor said that Imam Khomeini's influence went beyond the borders of Iran, a country that built its diplomatic relations on independence and identity that inspired many developing countries.
The South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation expressed hope that everyone adheres to determine their independent path, as Imam Khomeini's acts made Iran ensure that it is able to determine its independent fate.
Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi said at the same webinar that Imam Khomeini thought about establishing a stable and independent political system and established society and political system that was not intimidated by the West and East blocks in Cold War era and after that.
Salehi added that Iran's great leader's regular and law-abiding personality led him to establish and pursue law-abiding social and political theories and systems, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is the fruit of such a personal approach.
He referred to the South African leader Nelson Mandela as a character with a 67-year record of fighting against racism and spending 27 years in prison and in harsh conditions, which made him a resilient and strong character.
Social order and a favorable management model in South Africa have been influenced by such a personality, he noted.
The Wednesday's event was attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, the Top Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati, The South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Grace Naledi Mandisa Pandor and a group of political figures and intellectuals who spoke at the webinar.
