Iran Press/Iran News: "Imam Khomeini, with a global and international perspective and addressing the members of the Islamic Ummah, considered unity and solidarity among Muslims as the prelude to the creation of an anti-arrogance front and an antidote to the strategy of the enemies of the Islamic world to disunite the Islamic societies and nations," the statement noted.
The statement stressed that: "Iran's deterrent power and defense authority and the brilliance of Iran's armed forces in protecting the country's national interests and security in international geography, are the results of Imam Khomeini's will and the measures of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the doctrines, strategies and defense programs of the Islamic Republic."
"Thanks to the Iranian people's commitment to religious, revolutionary and national ideals and values, the line of resistance against the enemies, especially the dictatorial and terrorist regime of the United States, has gone beyond the region's geography and serves as the herald of human liberation from arrogant domination," it added.
Iran's Army also issued a statement to commemorate the 31st anniversary of the passing away of Imam Khomeini, saying: "In addition to achieving full deterrence, the Islamic Republic of Iran has reached a decisive level in the region and enjoys unparalleled authority and dignity in the West Asian region."
Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Rouhollah Mousavi Khomeini, better known as Imam Khomeini, passed away on June 3, 1989, at the age of 87.
