The special ceremony for Iran's national football team was held in Vahdat hall this evening at 18:50 PM .Mahdi Taj the head of Iran's Football Federation together with Davarzani, deputy sports minster, and members of Ladies Futsal national team also participated in the event.
Before the ceremony got underway , Mr Taj unveiled a special handwoven carpet for the Russia World Cup, 2018 .The weaver of the carpet was also praised. The head of Iran's Football Federation delivered a speech at the event as well.
President Hassan Rouhani met with the members of Iran's national football team prior to the special ceremony at Vahdat Hall . He welcomed Iran's national football team, also known as Team Melli, on Sunday.
Rouhani said: “I would like to express my happiness at participating in the farewell ceremony for the national football team. I want to thank you because you made the Iranian public happy, by qualifying for the 2018 World Cup (in Russia)".
In further remarks, Rouhani said: "You will have to do your best in the competition and I believe that you can shine in the World Cup". He pointedly added: "I believe you have a difficult task ahead of you because you have been drawn into a difficult group."
President Rouhani was ceremoniously handed an Iranian national football team No 12 shirt at the meeting.
