“Voters should consider national interests when picking candidates and voting for them. People should approach the upcoming legislative polls from the perspective of fulfilling responsibilities towards the country,” Hezbollah chief said.
Addressing his supporters via a televised speech from the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon on Saturday evening, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah called upon people from all walks of life to participate in the elections, which are scheduled to be held on May 6.
Nasrallah added that Lebanese voters should not cast their ballots in favor of those who would hand over the country to the US, compromise over oil reserves with the Israeli regime, conspire against Hezbollah or destroy the country’s economy.
Nasrallah also warned against the plots being hatched by Washington in the Middle East
Secretary General of Hezbollah resistance movement Hassan Nasrallah also banned buying votes in elections and said, “Let people approach the elections in the coming two months from a responsible point of view”.
“People shouldn’t elect based on family, religious or party affiliations,” he added.“We must explain to people the bases upon which they should elect,” Nasrallah added.
“Our parliament members hold the responsibility of the nation as a whole,” he said.
“Do we vote for people who would hand the state to the US, the oil to Israel, conspire against the resistance and destroy economy?”“Let’s ask what Hezbollah offered for this country, on the resistance, stability, and services levels.”He went on to say that “Your voice for the resistance in the elections preserves the blood of the martyrs who fell on the path of the resistance, especially amid the current direct US intervention in the region.”
