Local media in Lebanon have reported that an Israeli drone strike targeted a Hamas official in Sidon, southern Lebanon, on Monday.

Iran Press/West Asia: The official, whose identity has not been disclosed, survived the assassination attempt with only a minor injury. The vehicle he was in caught fire, but firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze.
This incident marks the third recent assassination attempt by Israel against resistance figures, following the killing of Samer Al-Hajj, a member of Hamas, and Khalil Al-Maqdah, a leader within the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades.

The situation in the region has been tense since October 8, as clashes between Hezbollah, Palestinian resistance factions, and Israel escalate in response to the ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza.

The assault, which Israel claims is a response to Hamas' cross-border operation in October, has resulted in the deaths of over 40,400 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, and injured nearly 94,000 others, according to health officials in Gaza.

The relentless bombardment has left large parts of Gaza in ruins, compounded by a severe blockade on essential supplies.

Amid these developments, Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, a charge it vehemently denies.
