Damascus (IP) – A group of political and religious figures in Syria referred to the late Brigadier General Razi Mousavi as the pivotal commander of the Resistance Axis in the West Asian region.

Iran Press/ West Asia: Razi Mousavi, a senior adviser in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), was martyred on Monday during an Israeli air strike on Damascus, Syria.

Mutaz al-Qurashi, the Yemeni writer and researcher told Iran Press correspondent in Damascus that the senior commanders of the resistance played an important role in empowering the Resistance Axis and its confrontation with the Israeli and American enemies.

He noted that the ideology and path of the resistance martyrs, including General Razi Mousavi, would continue until the liberation of Palestine.

Abdul Karim al-Sharqi, one of the leaders of the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) highlighted martyr Mousavi's role in strengthening the Resistance Axis and told Iran Press that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been supporting Palestine and the Resistance Axis since the victory of Islamic Revolution. 

A funeral ceremony was held for martyr Razi Mousavi on Tuesday evening in the holy shrine of Ruqayyah (SA), the daughter of Imam Hussein (AS), in Damascus, with the participation of the Syrian people, as well as officials from Palestine, Lebanon, and the Resistance Axis. 

By the time the body of martyr Mousavi is carried around the holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (AS0 in Karbala of Iraq, people will have bid farewell to him in Tehran on Thursday. 

He will be buried in Emamzadeh Saleh Shrine in the Tajrish quarter of Tehran. 

Mousavi had close ties to former top Revolutionary Guard Lt. Gen. General Qassem Soleimani and was responsible for supporting the resistance front in Syria. General Soleimani was assassinated in a US drone strike in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2020.
