Iran Press/ Iran news: The Iranian consulate building near the Iranian Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus came under an Israeli missile strike on Monday afternoon, with reports of casualties as a result of the aggression.
The spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani considered this offensive attack to be a gross violation of international regulations, especially the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, adding: "This action should be condemned in the strongest terms by the international community and the United Nations and necessary action should be taken against the aggressor."
"Six people were reported martyred in the attack including commander of IRGC's Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, was martyred in the Israeli aggression on Damascus".
Syria's official news agency, SANA, said the strikes were carried out by “the Israeli enemy” and targeted the Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus on Monday afternoon.
Sana, citing one of its correspondents, said "The Israeli aggression caused major destruction to the building, in addition to damage to neighboring buildings." 219
