Kabul (IP)- The Ministry of Natural Disaster Management of the Taliban announced that 13 people have died in the last two days due to floods in 10 provinces of Afghanistan.

Iran PressAsia: Maulvi Mohammad Nasim Haqqani, the spokesman for natural disasters of the Taliban, said that 13 people died and 20 others were injured due to heavy rain and flooding in different parts of Afghanistan. 

He also said that the flood caused substantial financial damage, the exact details of which will be announced. 

Haqqani stated: The flood has caused the most damage in the last two days in Maidan Wardak, Paktia, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Paktika, and Parwan provinces.

The Jalalabad-Kabul highway has also been destroyed due to flooding in several areas, and traffic has stopped on this vital road. 

Earlier, Taliban officials had announced that dozens of residential houses and hundreds of hectares of agricultural land were destroyed due to heavy rain and flooding in Panjshir.

Local sources reported that the flood had left considerable damage in the cities of Panjshir Cascade, and the public highway of this province has also been blocked. 

According to this report, the flood in these areas has destroyed dozens of hectares of agricultural land, residential houses, crossing bridges, water channels, and small power dams.

During the last few weeks, Afghanistan has witnessed natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and heavy rain. 

As a result of the recent devastating floods and earthquakes in this country, 1900 people have died, 2000 thousand people have been injured, and thousands of livestock and houses have been destroyed.
