Iran Press/Europe: Iran's ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali said on Saturday that the agreement on the joint purchase and production of corona vaccine between Iran and Russia was signed yesterday, adding: "According to the agreement reached with the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF)the first shipment of vaccine was scheduled to be sent to Iran by Thursday, February 4."
Jalali added: "Considering that the vaccination capacity of Iran is also high, the Russian side and we agreed that this vaccine should be produced jointly in Iran."
Regarding the safety level of the Russian Corona vaccine, the Iranian ambassador added: "Extensive vaccination with the Russian "Sputnik V" vaccine has been carried out in Russia for several months, and about three million people have been vaccinated so far, and there are no reports of side effects announced.
Simultaneously with the purchase and import of Corona vaccine, efforts are being made to produce Iranian Corona vaccine in Iran, and so far, some vaccines have successfully passed several stages of clinical testing.
