IP- The executive operations for the first phase of the Mokhtar gas field storage project have commenced in southwestern Iran.

Iran PressIran news:  According to Shana, these operations were initiated during President Ebrahim Raisi's visit to Kohgilouyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, with the presence of Oil Minister Javad Owji and National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Managing Director Majid Chegeni.

The primary objective of this project is to address the seasonal imbalance between gas production and consumption.

The project will be implemented in two phases, ultimately adding 10 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) to the country's gas production capacity upon completion. Over 2,000 local experts will contribute to the project over a span of three years, with a budget allocation of 420 million euros.

During the reservoir development stage, eight to ten wells will be drilled, followed by the installation of refining units, gas injection systems, and gas dehydration units. These installations will facilitate injecting the reservoir's gas into the national grid. The undeveloped hydrocarbon reservoir is located 10 kilometers away from Yasouj, the provincial capital.
