Iran Press/Europe: As reported by the Iran Press News Agency in London, the organization released a statement demanding the prompt and unconditional release of Chris Nineham, the organization's deputy director. The statement highlighted that Chris was subjected to violent treatment by the police as he approached the BBC building in the company of several MPs and celebrities.
The announcement states that dozens of police officers approached the organization's executive vice president under the pretext of talking to him about the march, then attacked him and violently knocked him to the ground while the protesters tried to defend him.
The statement by 'Stop the War Coalition' says: "The police, incited by pro-Israel groups, including CST, intend to suppress the organizers of demonstrations supporting Palestinian rights in order to serve as a lesson to others."
The 'Stop the War Coalition' in Britain declared the police action a cruel attack on the Palestinian rights movement and stressed that such actions will not intimidate them.
According to a report by the organizations organizing anti-Israeli demonstrations and supporters of the regime in London, in addition to the violent and damaging arrest of the deputy head of the largest anti-war organization in Europe, dozens of other supporters of Palestinian rights and protesters against their genocide were arrested in front of the Prime Minister's Office and the headquarters of the British state-owned media outlet, the BBC, during Saturday's demonstrations.
The British police have not yet provided a comprehensive report on the number of people arrested in these marches over the past 15 months, but according to public organizations and organizers of these marches, hundreds of supporters of Palestinian rights have been arrested by the police so far, and some have been brought to court and imprisoned.
British police admitted in a statement that they had arrested 77 people at a pro-Palestinian rally on Saturday.
