Thousands marched on Saturday in support of Palestine on Al-Quds Day in Berlin. Protesters held banners asking for justice for the long-oppressed Palestinians.

According to local media, there were over 2,500 demonstrators. The march encountered several small groups of counter protesters who chanted slogans and held banners in support of Israel.

"The presence of the German people  in these protests is really important for the behavior of German officials might suggest that the German nation totally agrees  with the occupation of Palestine for it is not true."says one of  the German protesters.

A strong police presence followed the rally to prevent confrontations between the different sets of protesters.
