The Iranian Permanent Representative and Envoy to the UN said in case Iran faces any attack or threat to its security, it will not hesitate to defend itself.

Iran PressAmerica: Iran's ambassador to the United Nations Amir-Saeed Iravani referred to the Israeli-cooked tensions in the region and pointed out that if any act of aggression threatens the Iranian people and national interests, it will not hesitate to use its inherent rights under international law and the UN Charter to respond decisively.

Noting that the US is seeking to escalate tension through its evident support for the Israeli regime at the expense of the innocent Palestinians' lives, Iravani said that the unlimited support of the US for the Israeli regime's occupation has formed part of the challenge the international community is facing in the current situation of the Gaza Strip.

He recalled that Iran intends to contain the escalation of tensions in the region, so it has aligned with the international demand for the immediate stop of the Israeli regime's aggression on Gaza, the maintenance of a ceasefire, and free access of the Gazan people to humanitarian aid.

The extensive air raids on the Gazan people mingled with a blockade on them came after the Palestinian resistance forces carried out the Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on the Israeli regime's forces on October 7 in response to the regime's daily crimes against the Palestinian people during 75 years of occupation of Palestine.

According to Palestinian officials, the death toll in Gaza has risen to more than 8,000 people. 219
