The Syrian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva criticized the illegal activities of some international relief organizations in the country.

Iran PressMiddle East: Hussam Edin Aala warned of the actions of some members of relief organizations such as the Red Cross and the Red Crescent and their illegal activities in Syria.

ُSpeaking at the Thirty-third International Red Cross and Red Crescent Conference in Geneva, the Syrian envoy said that the Syrian government, in addition to combating terrorism and countering foreign aggression and interference, is cooperating and negotiating with international relief organizations to serve the needs of its citizens.

Referring to the coincidence of the conference with the 70th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions, he recalled violations of these treaties in Palestine and the occupied Golan Heights by the Israeli regime and its continued bans on national and Palestinian associations.

In 1967, the Israeli Zionist Regime occupied some 1,200 square kilometers of Syrian territory in the Golan Heights and later annexed the area into occupied Palestinian territories. The international community has never recognized this annexation.

The UN Security Council has also called the area occupied territories, but the US government supports the occupation of the Golan Heights.
