Iran Press/Middle East: According to medical sources, dozens of others were wounded in the bloody attack on al-Hallani Square near Tahrir Square.
Photojournalist Ahmed al-Muhenne covering developments was also killed when he was stabbed by assailants, the sources said.
Following the peaceful protests of the Iraqi people, some rioters and saboteurs, in an effort to create terror, set fire to many shops and stores, Iran Press reported citing Al-Alam television network.
These violent acts of rioters and saboteurs in Baghdad coincided with the second day of Iraqi protests in support of peaceful protests and religious authorities.

Friday was the second day of protests in support of Iraqi religious authorities and condemnation of US and Zionist interventions. Thousands of Iraqi people took to the streets of the capital, Baghdad on Friday, in support of top Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali al-Sistani.
In the meantime, the secretary-general of 'Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Resistance Movement', Qais Khazali, in a message in his Twitter account stressed on Saturday morning that any armed conflict had been rejected and all gunmen had to retreat.

The new round of popular peaceful demonstrations in Iraq began on 25 October, in various cities, including Baghdad, Karbala, Basra, Najaf and other cities in protest at corruption and the poor state of the economy.
The peaceful protests are aimed at forcing the government to meet protester demands.
Some demonstrations have turned violent with the Iraqi government blaming Iraq's enemies for supporting and funding rioters and vandals in Iraq. 101/211/207
