Tehran (IP) - Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi in his weekly press conference in Tehran on Monday said Iran is ready to cooperate with the Europeans to launch INSTEX, 'if they wish'.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi regarding the latest developments in Iran-EU exchange mechanism "INSTEX" said: "We are obliged, as the Foreign Ministry and the Government, to support and do everything we can to help the nation to reduce pressure, but we have some considerations."

He added, "INSTEX was a prelude to Europe's commitments, which said that if we are to fulfill those commitments, it would be necessary to facilitate financial exchanges. It did take a long time, and unfortunately, the lack of independence in the European Union and their pursuit of the US and the pressures of bullying have so far hampered many of Europe's commitments.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said: "They set up this and we set up the same parallel entity and the two entities are in contact and the head of INSTEX has been in Iran recently, but it is the Europeans who need to take action. Again it seems that they are looking for mechanisms and solutions and green light from the US."

"It's up to them," Mousavi said. The Iranian side is ready to launch the channel and make financial transfers.

"We do not recognize anything as a humanitarian channel," the foreign ministry spokesman said in response to the financial channel launched by Switzerland and noted that it is not worth much. These medicines are bought with the money of the nation, and the Swiss company gets the money.

Mousavi on the latest development in Syria and the Syrian Army operation in Idlib said: "Other countries must respect the wishes and territorial integrity and national security of Syria. Some countries have their own concerns and these concerns must be addressed through correct paths. The Syrian government and the nation also must be allowed to decide their own fate."
