Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Petroleum said that the country's oil industry will be witnessed a major leap by 2022.

Iran Press/Iran news: Bijan Zanganeh said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Saturday that Tehran has provided feedstock for the new petrochemical plant including Ethane, Methane, and etc.

Iran's senior official went on to say that the country produces almost 10 million tons of Ethane annually which has been allocated for both newly established as well as the operating plants.

"This all means that we have enough potentials for new petrochemical plants which will be a new leap," Zanganeh added.

Zangeneh further explained that in the second leap of the oil industry, the total production is going to reach almost 100 million tons per year costing $27 billion and the third leap is expected to reach nearly 133 million tons of Iran's petrochemical products costing $37 billion.

The Iranian official said that based on Iran's achievements in oil-industry as well as financial sources, the pre-planned leaps are going to be embodied and the related goals can be achieved by the second leap by the end of 2022.
