Chabahar (IP)- On the third day of Iran-China-Russia naval drills (CHIRU 2019), the fleets of the three countries practiced the operation of liberating an abducted ship.

Iran Press/Iran news: In this part of the drill, according to a predetermined scenario, the operations of two ships sailing from the Persian Gulf to international waters abducted by pirates were carried out by surface and flight units.

At this stage, after sending an emergency message to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) of Chabahar, the area of operation was first identified and searched by the SH-3 helicopter of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (NEDAJA) and then the Alborz destroyer divided the combat vessels based in the region into two groups consisting of Iranian, Russian and Chinese units.

Subsequently, special operation forces captured the pirates and launched liberation operations as they descended from the air and surface onto the deck of the ship.

Performing the fire extinguishing operation was another exercise practiced during this operation. After the operation, one of the liberated ships was towed by the Russian tugboat for training.
