Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, who participated in the referral, farewell ceremony of ECO Cultural Institute's presidents, told Iran Press on the sidelines of the event that ECO, with the ten member states, had an opportunity not only for the region but also a remarkable human opportunity.
This region with its cultural, historical, and civilizational background and with new energies and capacities can be significant for the future of man in the 21st century, Salehi underscored.
"Cultural relations should be a base for the current economic ties between member states and that is why the Cultural Institute was formed," Salehi noted.
"What happens in cultural communications is that people's relationships are in a stable environment and that creates an opportunity for economics, politics, and science to move in a smooth and continuous way," the Minister said.
During the farewell ceremony in Tehran, the former president of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Cultural Institute Mohammad-Mehdi Mazaheri was honored for the activities during his presidency.
Sarvar Bakhti, from Tajikistan, took the helm of ECO Cultural Institue.
