Sustainable regional security possible if foreigners not meddle: Shamkhani

The Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran said the regional coalitions could ensure the sustainable security of the region if the foreigners do not meddle.

Iran Press/Iran news: In his meeting with Oman's Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani pointed out to referred to the failure of the US and its allies to create an international coalition in the Persian Gulf under the pretext of maintaining security in the region, noting that only those coalitions bring sustainable security in which foreigners do not intervene.

"A country that is not committed to any of its obligations neither to Iran nor to other countries cannot be trusted," Admiral Shamkhani said.

The Iranian official noted that those countries which have a significant role in creating tensions and insecurity as well as waging numerous wars and spreading terrorism in the region have never been seeking stability and security if the Persian Gulf but merely pursuing their interests in the region and looting it.

Shamkhani pointed to Yemen's war as an obvious example of the warmongering policy of the US and its regional puppets, particularly Saudi Arabia, for exploiting turmoil in the region, saying the US and Israeli regimes benefit from the genocide in Yemen.

He advised the Saudi regime to submit to the Yemeni nation's demand for having independence, and avoid endangering the region's security any more.

The Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi for his part expressed satisfaction with the constant consultations of the two countries over regional and international issues, stressing that tension in the region is in the interest of no country in the region thus it must be prevented from expanding anyway.

Bin Alawi referred to the close fundamental stances by Tehran and Muscat on the regional and international issues, saying: "the warm and cordial relations of the two countries in the political, economic and commercial dimensions can make a significant leap by taking new steps".

He noted that achieving sustainable security in the region requires a consensus as well as the removal of the current misunderstandings among all of the regional states, stressing that Oman is always ready to use its capacity to remove the existing tensions and create a constructive dialogue between the countries of the region. 205/219
