Anonymous drone targeted before reaching facilities: Iranian Army Aerial Defence Commander

Iran's Army Aerial Defence Commander said that Iran shot down an intruder drone over the city of Mahshahr in Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran, before reaching sensitive facilities.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Army Aerial Defence Commander, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said on Friday that the intruder drone was shot down by a missile on Friday morning, before reaching sensitive facilities.

Khuzestan Governor Gholamreza Shariati also noted that the anonymous drone fell into Mahshahr's surrounding canebrakes and the remaining parts of it were gathered to be investigated.

"The drone definitely belongs to the foreign countries, and the results of experts' investigation will be made public after they are determined," he noted.

Mahshahr port city is the largest petrochemical economic zone in the Middle East, located 100 kilometers southeast of Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan province.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the downed drone had nothing to do with the US.
