Iranian President has called on the Persian Gulf littoral countries to join Tehran's Hope initiative.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Seyyed Abbas Mousavi in a statement on Saturday afternoon confirmed the media reports that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had sent a letter to the heads of member states of Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) and Iraq in which he calls for their collaboration on Iran’s Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE).

Iranian president in his letter has called on Arab heads of states to collaborate on the probable amendments and its implementation, Iran Press reported.

"This shows the seriousness of the Islamic Republic of Iran and attaching great importance to the regional countries in ensuring stability and security in the Persian Gulf region," the Iranian FM spokesman added.

He further pointed out that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will soon send a letter to the UN Secretary-General in that regard as well.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the United Nations General assembly on 25 Sep. presented the Hormuz Peace Endeavour (HOPE), an initiative aims at promoting peace, stability, progress, and prosperity for all the residents along the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.

Iranian President said ensuring security, peace, stability, and progress in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is the historic responsibility of the Islamic Republic, and invited all countries that are affected by the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz developments to join the Hormuz Peace Endeavour (HOPE) Initiative.
