Bahraini football fans rude behaviour prompted FIFA / AFC protest by Iran

Iran’s national Football Federation has sent a strongly-worded letter of protest to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the international governing body of football, FIFA, following offensive and rude behaviour by Bahraini football fans whose boisterous and unseemly antics drowned out Iran's national anthem.

Iran Press/Iran news: Following unseemly, offensive and rude behaviour  by a section of Bahraini football fans during playing of Iran's national anthem before the start of the Iran-Bahrain football match, at also during the match itself, the National Football Federation of Iran has sent a strongly-worded letter of protest to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the international governing body of football, FIFA, condemning the behaviour of some Bahraini fans in the stadium in Manama.

A spokesman for the National Football Federation of Iran, Amir Mehdi Alavi, expressed deep regret about the behaviour of some Bahraini football fans on Tuesday night, during the match in Manama, and said Iran has sent a strongly-worded letter of protest to the highest football authorities in Asia--the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) --  and the international governing body of football, FIFA, Iran Press reported.

Iran lost to Bahrain 1-0 at matchday 4 of Asia’s Round 2 qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar in Group C.
