Iran Press/ Iran news: In further remarks Gholami said that Iran's research output has been very good this year, particularly in science and technology.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday in Lorestan province, Mansour Gholami referred to a comment by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution who had earlier said that he was satisfied with Iran's scientific progress and the current state of science in the country.
In further comments, the Minister of Science said: "Over 43 science and technology parks were active in the country and currently there are 197 scientific growth centres in Iran's universities."
The Minister went on to compare scientific advancement in various countries saying: "There is close rivalry in scientific advancement and Iran's scientific growth takes place at a time when the other countries are also advancing in science, so we have to cope with strong competition."
The Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, Mansour Gholami officially inaugurated a 'science innovation centre' on Tuesday morning at Lorestan University in the city of Khorramabad, the provincial capital.
The science innovation centre at Lorestan University will support students and researchers who have novel ideas regarding the commercialization of science and technology and manufacture of new products.
