The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said it has impounded a foreign oil tanker smuggling seven hundred thousand liters of fuel around Southern Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy announced in a statement on Sunday that its forces impounded the vessel in a blitz operation at the request of the Iranian judiciary and after they ensured that the vessel was carrying smuggled fuel.

The foreign oil tanker had been carrying seven hundred thousand liters of fuel around the Southern Farsi Island, a tiny, barren Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, reported Iran Press.

According to the statement, the ship was delivered to Bushehr province after being impounded.

Also, all of its 12 foreign crew were arrested and taken to Bushehr province along with its cargo, which was transferred to the department of the National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company (NIOPDC) in Bushehr under the surveillance of Iranian judiciary officials.

On July 14, IRGC impounded another foreign oil tanker smuggling one million liters of fuel Southern Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf and both cases were by the request of the Iranian judiciary.
