The UNHCR representative in Iran appreciated Iran's stance toward Afghan immigrants.

Iran Press/Iran News: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Representative in Iran, Ivo Freijsen Said on Sunday that the nation and the government of Iran, have done great job in the field of immigration.

Speaking in southeastern city of Kerman, UNHCR official also praised the efforts and measures of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding immigrants.

Referring to the US unilateral sanctions against Iran, Freijsen highlighted that the international community should not leave Iran alone concerning this very critical and sensitive issue, reported Iran Press.

He also went on to stress developing cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to UNHCR report in 2017, some 1 million of the registered afghan immigrant live legally in Iran. However, some 2 million of these immigrants have no legal papers and documents.

According to decrees and guidelines of the Leader of the Islamic revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei the education for these two groups of Afghan immigrant (legal or illegal) is free and they enjoy the medical service free of any biased ideas.

The UN officials together with Afghan officials have always appreciate Iran's help rendering attitude toward Afghan immigrants.203/213
