Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister said that Tehran does expect Europe to ensure the country's oil-selling and receiving the money earned through the bank channel.

Iran Press/Europe: In an interview with Sputnik on the sideline of the 5th Conference on Nonproliferation in Moscow, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, referred to Iran's nuclear deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and stressed that Iran's interest must be ensured in the deal.

Araghchi also pointed to the coming US presidential election and emphasized that the results of the future election have no impact on Iran's plans.

When asked about the next step of Iran in case of the failure of the European signatories of JCPOA, Araghchi said that Iran will adopt appropriate and necessary measures in due time.  

The 2019 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference titled 'Nuclear Energy, Disarmament and Nonproliferation' began on Friday with the participation of ministers and officials from 40 countries as well as several international bodies including International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), and United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA).

The conference will address such issues as arms control between Russia and the US, various aspects of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Middle East tensions, and the lack of success in denuclearising the Korean peninsula, and nuclear disarmament.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi is attending the Moscow conference and the special meetings to be held on JCPOA to elaborate on the latest situation with regards to Iran's nuclear deal.
