Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister noted that for Iran, preserving the interests of the Iranian nation is more important than maintaining JCPOA.

Iran Press/Europe: Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, told reporters on the sideline of the 5th Conference on Nonproliferation at the Lotte Hotel in Moscow that no country doubts Iran's good faith in preserving the Iran Nuclear Deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He stated that no one doubts that Iran will continue to reduce its obligations if the country does not enjoy the benefits of JCPOA.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister went on to say that preserving the interests of the Islamic Republic is more important than maintaining an agreement, while the other signatories of the deal wouldn't comply with their commitments.

Araghchi continued that although Iran has always indicated its determination to meet its commitments under the JCPOA, Tehran would continue to reduce obligations if other sides fail to deliver on their commitments.

Referring to US' international isolation, Iran's senior official said that many countries, including participants in the international conference, condemn the US' unilateralism.
