Iran and Kyrgyzstan Interior Ministers agreed to strengthen security and cooperation with signing a security cooperation agreement.

Iran PressAsia: Iran and Kyrgyzstan Interior Ministers Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Kashkar Dzunushaliyev  held meeting in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek on Thursday and the two sides noted the importance of joint decisions on topical issues and efforts in the fight against international crimes.

The two sides discussed a range of issues, including mutual, regional, and international cooperation, Iran Press reported.

At the end of the meeting, Dzhunushaliyev and Rahmani Fazli signed an agreement on cooperation in the security and law-enforcement fields to combat the organized crime and terrorism, extremism, trafficking in human beings, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in particular, on mutual cooperation within the framework of the UN Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.

They also reached an agreement on the agenda of meetings between senior officials of Iran and Kyrgyzstan during the current Iranian year (started since March 21).

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed their desire for further cooperation.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Rahmani Fazli left Tehran for Bishkek on Thursday to meet with senior officials of the Central Asian country, including his counterpart, Kashkar Junushaliev.

During his two-day visit, Rahmani Fazli will finalize an agreement to boost security and police cooperation between the two countries. 205/208/203
