Iranian Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi, heading a delegation to Baku on Thursday, on his first day of his official visit, met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to boost medical cooperation.
The two sides also insisted on the expansion of bilateral relations in health area.
Before this meeting on Thursday, Iranian Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi has met with the Minister of Healthcare of Azerbaijan Republic Ogtay Shiraliyev Kazim oglu.
The two sides discussed the ways to boost bilateral cooperation in the field of medical care and medical treatment be between Tehran and Baku.
Qazizadeh in an interview with IRIB described the meeting as fruitful and good ones.
Iranian Health Minister continued further to say that medical insurance was another item that was discussed during the official meeting with the Azeri official.
According to Qazizadeh sharing medical experiences was also among another important issues discussed at the meeting.
"Regarding the strong will of the Iranian and Azeri presidents to expand the bilateral ties and considering mutual interests among the two neighbouring nations of Iran and Azerbaijan, the events like these could lead to positive achievements", stressed the Iranian official.
Qazizadeh also expressed hope that measures could be done in order to pave the ground for exporting medicine and sharing medical sciences and experiences and related technologies between the two countries more than ever before.
To speed up the common projects ,having contribution in the medical cooperation and taking the advantage of the two sides medical capacities and potentials were among the most important topics discussed at the meeting .
Referring to existing cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic Ogtay Shiraliyev Kazim oglu the Azeri Minister of Healthcare said he is willing to expand the cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as neighbouring country.
He also expressed hope to reach good result through proper planning programs via boosting bilateral cooperation.
The event was also attended by some of the Iranian mangers of pharmacological companies so that the existing hurdles and problems in the field at hand ,that might affect the bilateral cooperation between the two sides could be removed .
Islamic Republic Of Iran is considered as one of the popular destiny for Azeri medical tourists.
Annually some 1000,000 Azeri patients come to the country to be treated by the Iranian physicians.
