Two people were killed and 1 injured in shooting at Texas A&M University-Commerce residence hall. Also, 6 passengers were shot on a Greyhound bus in California, including 1 who was killed.

Iran Press/America: Two people were killed Monday and a third person was wounded after a shooting in a residence hall on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce, the school said on Monday.

Also, authorities in California said a man opened fire on a Greyhound bus Monday morning, killing a woman and wounding five other passengers, CNN reported.

The Texas shooting occurred in Pride Rock residence hall, the school said in a post on Twitter.

The wounded victim has been taken to a hospital, the school said.

As of August 2016, those who hold a current and valid concealed handgun license in Texas are allowed to carry a concealed handgun on certain parts of the campus. Handgun license holders are also allowed to store the weapon in a safe in their campus housing, according to the policy.

California Shooting

The bus in California, carrying 43 people including the driver, was headed from Los Angeles to the San Francisco area, California Highway Patrol said.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m., a gunman on the bus opened fire while the bus was on Interstate 5, in the Grapevine area near Fort Tejon Road, CHP spokesman Steve Loftus said.

A 51-year-old woman from Colombia was killed, CHP spokesman Richard Anthes said.

Five other people were shot and taken to local hospitals. Authorities said two are in serious condition.

After the shooting, "the driver immediately pulled to the right shoulder, and the suspect voluntarily got off the bus, leaving his handgun behind," CHP Sgt. Brian Pennings said.

The suspect is in custody, but the motive remains unclear, CHP said. Authorities said the suspect boarded the bus in Los Angeles, but are not yet certain where he is from originally.

Every year thousands of people lose their lives or get wounded by gunshot attacks. Based on official statistics there are around 270 to 300 million guns in the US, which is almost one gun for every American.

US President Donald Trump is one of the supporters of the gun lobby.
