Iran News/ America: Majid Takht Ravanchi said Thursday at a Security Council meeting to review the UN Secretary-General's latest report on the status of implementation of the resolution 2231 that Iran could not remain indifferent to the continuation of illegal sanctions and lack of compensatory measures by other parties to the agreement.
"Fulfillment of this agreement requires more than one willing and able party," Takht Ravanchi stated.
He continued: "Iran has stopped fulfilling some of its obligations under paragraphs 26 and 36 of the (JCPOA. To create space for diplomacy, a step-by-step approach with a 2-month interval is designed."
The Iranian diplomat reiterated, "Iran's steps are reversible, but the damage to Iran and the Iranians as a result of the sanctions is irreversible."
"How can the lost opportunities, the damage to the economy, and most importantly, suffering of the Iranian people, especially children, the elderly and the sick, be restored?" he asked.
Takht Ravanchi said, "Iran has always complied with its obligations and has responded logic with logic and respect with respect, but we cannot accept the bullying and will not accept it. We will respond with threats and intimidation."
"Any unnecessary on Iran will face decisive action by Iran, as we have previously stated at the highest levels to the European parties of the JCPOA."
On the issue of negotiating with the US, he also said, "The US proposal to negotiate unconditionally with Iran is not sincere and is due to Washington's habit of entering negotiations from a position of force rather than an equal position."
"Demand for dialogue with Iran while insisting on a" maximum pressure policy "against the Iranian people is unacceptable. Iran will not negotiate under the threat of the sword."
"Under no circumstances will Iran compromise its security," he said, referring to Iran's defense capabilities.
