Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif after attending in Economic and Social Council of the United Nations will travel to South America to hold bilateral meetings with officials of Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia.

Iran PressAmerica: Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif who is in New York to take part at Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, will attend at the ministerial meetings of Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC)’s annual High-level Political Forum for the last three days of ECOSOC which will be wrapped up in July 18.

Zarif is also scheduled to visit Venezuela to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) foreign ministers' meeting.

Mousavi added that bilateral meetings with Venezuelan officials are on the agenda of Zarif's visit to Caracas.

Zarif will then travel to South America to hold bilateral meetings with officials of Nicaragua and Bolivia.

US imposed limitation on Iranian FM does not affect his agenda

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman protested the US over the restricting movement of Foreign Minister in New York, stressed that it does not affect Zarif's agenda.

Abbas Mousavi told IRNA as Pompeo confessed in his recent interview, they are worried about the political implications of the Iranian foreign minister's current tour to the United Nations enlightening the New York-based diplomatic corps.

Putting a limitation on Zarif's movement to some districts of New York will not affect his agenda, Mousavi said.

Zarif usually stays in the UN and also the residence of the Iranian envoy to New York and all interviews and speeches will be held there, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

 

Earlier US secretary of state Mike Pompeo in an interview with Washington Post said Iranian foreign minister's movement to some districts of New York will be sharply curtailed.
