Iran Press/Africa: Welcoming the contribution of Iranian companies in Uganda,'Sam Kutesa' on Saturday urged enhanced relations with Iran.
Speaking at a meeting in Kampala with Iranian ambassador to Uganda, Morteza Mortazavi, Kutesa added that Uganda is keen to attract investments from Iranian companies in the country, IRNA reported.
He said that Uganda is an independent country and is not obliged to follow the unilateral approach of some countries which try to exert pressure on the country to keep it from cooperating with a certain country.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, conveyed the message of Iranian Foreign Minister 'Mohammad Javad Zarif' who has asked his Ugandan counterpart to visit Iran.
The invitation was welcomed by the Ugandan side. Mortazavi underlined the need to remove the existing obstacles on the way of relations between the two nations, urging further efforts to implement the already signed agreements. 105/207
