Tehran (IP) - The Chairwoman of the Parliament's Human Rights Committee said that Iran did the best of its ability to ensure that the rights of its citizens are preserved in the recent unrest.

Iran PressIran News: Referring to the visit of the Iranian delegation to New York to elaborate on the recent developments in Iran, Zohreh Elahian said: Our policy was that the police force and Basij were not allowed to use weapons so that lest innocent people be killed, but terrorist groups agents opened fire on our security forces and even attacked the police forces with knives.

Elahian said: When we discussed all these issues with different countries, some of them pointed out that some of these issues are familiar to us because the US has implemented a similar scenario in our country."

She said that BBC and Iran International media outlets, which of course Iran did not call them media but compulsive liars, raised a large amount of violence in the country.

"We reserve the right to file a complaint against these media and actions have been taken to do so. They tried to subvert the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the lawmaker noted.

The lawmaker said that the Iranian delegation had clarified the conditions that terrorist groups, led by the US, created for Iran, by holding meetings with the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, and the representative of Europe.
