Tehran (IP) - Based on international standards and protocols, dental offices and their services are one of the vulnerable places during the COVID-19 outbreak, Secretary of the Dental Advisory Committee of the National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus Behzad Hooshmand noted.

Iran PressIran News: Responding Iran Press question on under what hygienic protocols the dentists will resume their services, Behzad Hooshmand said: "On April 10, a group of 10 dentists formed a committee to note down hygienic protocols on how to reopen, resume and offer dentistry services and April 13 the protocols are applied to guarantee the people's health."

The official stated that during the COVID-19 outbreak and epidemic all public and private dental offices and clinics have offered their services to those in emergency and dire conditions.

"Based on international standards and protocols, dental offices and its services are one of the vulnerable places during the COVID-19 outbreak, so the relevant officials are obliged to support dentists during this crisis," he added.

The health ministerial official highlighted: "As for the controlling the infection, the dentists were obliged to follow the hygienic rules to its end and still do more, and we hope by following the defined protocols, Iran leaves the crisis behind."
