Ilam (IP) - Iran’s Minister of Energy said by the end of the current government the number of dams built will reach 52, expressing hope that the trend will continue through the observation of engineering and environmental principles.

Iran Press/Iran News: Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of developmental projects in Ilam, on Thursday Iran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian said that the increase in greenhouse gases is due to human performance however when the approaches get corrected, the blessings would be increased.

Reza Ardakanian said on Thursday 38000 billion Tomans have been invested in water projects including dam construction and irrigation grids as well as drainage networks.

He noted that 21000 billion Tomans of the investment was supplied out of the National Development Fund under the permission of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

"After the Islamic Revolution, we had 19 storage dams, which have now reached 144 dams, and taking into account the times such as the imposed-war years, when we did not have dam activities, about 4 dams have been built in the country every 4-year on average, and today the 40th dam has been built by the government will be launched," Ardakanian said.

Ardakanian made the remarks on Thursday in the weekly campaign of launching utility projects in Ilam, west of Iran, with the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani attended through video-conference.

According to the reports, a total of 1,100 billion Tomans has been spent for these projects.
