Iranian President delivering a speech in Muslim Leaders Summit 2019 called the cooperation among the Islamic countries as the irreplaceable principle for strengthening the Muslim world as the big bloc of power.

Iran PressAsia: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is in Malaysia to attend the Kuala Lumpur summit, delivered a speech on the summit early morning on Thursday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Kuala Lumpur summit 2019, Iran's President while referring to the most important challenges of the Muslim world which have been newly created in the international and national scales, called the cooperation among the Islamic countries as the irreplaceable principle for turning the Muslim World to the big bloc of power in the international arena.

Rouhani said in his remarks that some states' irresponsible policies lead to discord among Muslim nations.

He also offered 3 important executive plans for Kuala Lumpur summit 2019.

Stating that the economic sanctions have turned into the main tools of domineering hegemony and bullying, Rouhani said: The Muslims world should be designing measures to save it from the domination of US dollar and the American financial regime."

"The fact of the matter is that Muslim states are complementary to each other in economic terms and therefore, the creation of special mechanisms for banking and financial cooperation among Muslim nations, the use of national money in mutual trade, conclusion of preferential trade agreements in the Muslim world as well as investment in areas with relative advantage and similar ideas should be thoroughly investigated by the economists and experts of Muslim states," the President added.

The Iranian senior official went on to say that "the people of Iran have been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism and have attained the highest success in confronting it."

Pointing to the oppressive sanctions of the US against the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said: "While only since 8 May 2018, when the US withdrew from the nuclear deal, more than 93 sanctions measures have been imposed against Iran, today the Iranian economy has recovered properly and economic indices are improving."

Rouhani is in Malaysia to attend the 2019 summit of the heads of states of  Muslim countries. The Iranian President will also visit Japan on Friday to meet with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Leaders from some of the world's most populous Muslim-majority countries are meeting in Malaysia's capital to address issues such as Islamophobia and poverty.
