43 killed, 25 wounded in coordinated Kabul attack

At least 43 people have been killed, and 25 others wounded in a coordinated attack on Monday in the Afghan capital, Kabul.

Iran PressAsia: The sound of an explosion was heard close to an Afghan governmental compound on Monday, amid reports several people have been killed or wounded in the blast and clashes between the security forces and attacking militants.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health Wahid Majroh confirmed that the dead bodies of at least 43 people have been shifted to various hospitals in Kabul on Monday, along with at least 25 others who have sustained injuries, Iran Press reported.

Deputy interior ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi had earlier said at least one policeman lost his life in the attack and sixteen others sustained injures.

Rahimi further added that three militants who were resisting the security forces have also been killed during the exchange of fire.

Another security official had also said that four people including two security guards at the ministry have been killed, and two others have sustained injuries.
