Tehran (IP) - The Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that the assassination of "Molavi Abdulvahid Rigi" in Khash at Sistan and Baluchestan was directed abroad.

Iran PressIran news: 'Molavi Abdolvahed Rigi' the Sunni Friday Prayer Imam of Imam Hossein (A.S.) mosque in Khash city, in the south-eastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, who was one of the leading clerics in the area was kidnapped and martyred by an unknown group on December 8th.

On December 14th, the Ministry of Intelligence of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced in a statement that three perpetrators of the assassination of the Sunni Friday Prayer Leader of Imam Hossein (A.S.) mosque in Khash city were arrested while fleeing the country.

"Ahmad Vahidi," the Minister of Interior of Iran, said  regarding the latest news about the assassination team of the martyr "Molvi Abdulvahed Rigi," that target of the assassins was to create a religious and ethnic divergence in the province."

Vahidi stated that Molavi Abdolvahed Rigi was a patriotic, revolutionary cleric who was against the enemies, so he was targeted and martyred.

He further stated: "This martyrdom shows the deep bond between Sunnis and Shias and the deep bond between Sistani and Baloch people. It proved how much the Balochs play a role in border management."
